Overview
This project explores how vehicle-induced stress on road infrastructure can be converted into usable electrical energy — a practical innovation topic aligned with my final-year engineering path (PFE 2027).
Work spans hardware concept, sensing, energy conversion, and validating that harvested power is measurable and meaningful at lab or pilot scale.
Problem
Urban traffic wastes kinetic energy. Small-scale harvesting can power edge sensors, signage, or IoT nodes if conversion and storage are engineered carefully.
Approach
- →Research transduction methods and traffic loading patterns relevant to deployment.
- →Prototype mechanical/electrical subsystems and define measurement protocol.
- →Integrate storage and monitoring to prove end-to-end energy balance.
- →Document results for academic review and PFE defense.
Stack
- Embedded systems
- Electronics
- Data acquisition
- Lab instrumentation
Outcomes
- Structured PFE roadmap with measurable milestones
- Hands-on integration between hardware sensing and software readouts
- Foundation for field-ready IoT powered by local harvest
